Artist Jan West specializes in Mandalas, organic abstract paintings, murals, force field photography, teaching, and commercial photography. She uses paint and photography to explore archetypal, spiritual and cross cultural themes and to tell the stories of the ages.

Jan''s deep love for the natural world is reflected in her paintings in a style she describes as Organic Abstract. Her paintings reflect the colors and emotions of the American Southwest, more specifically, of her home in Northern New Mexico.
Her strength as an artist lies in her use of color, lighting, stylization and innovation. West uses art to explore the world around us and to shift existing perceptions of reality.
Her gift is to communicate with and photograph Energy Systems and Frequencies that are invisible to the naked eye, and her ability to share this work with others.
Jan West is a graduate from the College of Wooster, with a liberal arts degree in Political Science and Speech, and graduate studies in Landscape Architecture, from Ohio State University. She lives with her family in Cleveland, Ohio and Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Jan has developed a product line of original canvas paintings, fine art prints, greeting cards, calenders and meditation and healing tools that incorporate her artwork, as well as her teachings. She also carries a clothing line, Jan's Jeans, which features her artwork on clothing.

Mandalas are painted stories of cultural,
mythological, archetypal and spiritual symbols. The circle is present
throughout Jan’s work and is symbolic of the Great Mystery. Jan will work with you to create your own personal Mandala. The Mandala is a spiritual creation that is used to bring the users mind, heart and soul into a place of peace and centerdness.
The Mandala that you create with Jan, will be filled with your own person symbols, stories, dreams and energy. The process of creating the Mandala is interactive and fun!

Jan West teaches in hospitals, schools, churches and for special interest groups. No matter what the subject matter, she uses her paintings, photographs, mandalas, and storytelling as the backdrop for her lessons. Jan's combined interest in the arts, cross cultural studies, ceremony, and alternative healing modalities
( mind, body and spirit ) has inspired people in all walks of life to
explore their own creative side and to broaden their horizons to
embrace mystery and awe. The Workshops and lectures cover a wide range of topics. All topics can be formatted for any age group.
