Commissioned Mandalas
Jan West will work with you to create your own Mandala.,

The word "mandala" is a Sanskrit word, loosely translated to mean "circle".   A mandala represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself; a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.  The Mandala is used to bring the users mind, heart and soul into a place of peace and centerdness.  Meditation on a  Mandala may have the potential to change how we see ourselves, our planet, and perhaps even our own life purpose.

The Mandala that you create with Jan, will be filled with your own person symbols, stories, dreams and energy.  The process of creating your  Mandala with Jan is interactive and fun!

Shaman's Dance - 48" x 48"

Mandalas are found all over the world and from most periods of recorded history.  They are circular in form.  Mandalas are an age-old symbol of wholeness, totality and Deity. Navaho Indians use Mandala - Structured Sand Paintings, to bring a sick person back into harmony with himself and with the cosmos, and thereby to restore health.  In Eastern Civilizations, similar Mandala pictures are used to consolidate the inner being or to enable one to plunge into a deep meditation.  The contemplation of a Mandala is meant to bring an inner peace, a feeling that life, has once again found it's meaning and order.

The Sanskrit word, Mandala or "Magic Circle" refers to a geometric figure in which the circle is squared.  Carl Jung interpreted the Mandala  as an expression of the psyche and in particular of the self in its totality.  It was important in that sense, as a symbol of the individualization process.

Healed Heart Mandala - 5' x 3'

The mandala is one example of an archetypal form.  It is found all over the world, in different cultures, and throughout history.  I hope the stories in the mandalas will speak to you.

We each have a unique vision.  I invite you to celebrate yours and to vigorously participate in the dance of the Universe.

Faith Mandala - 24' x 24"

 Kundalini Play- 36" x 36"

The mandala is a powerful tool for bringing the mind to a place of quiet and the soul to a place of connection to the Divine.  The mandala provides a sacred space, where inner truth will be revealed,  to those who listen.

Allow your mind to quiet and your eyes to travel quietly around the images.  Meditate on the mandala and listen to the stories of your heart, as they are whispered to your inner knowing.  The stories in the mandalas are about our connection to the Whole, to Mystery, and to the Archetypal realm.  It is this spiritual energy that is healing.

Courageously embrace your dreams.  From your passion comes magic!
